Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. In 2001, she launched The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 millions. Then, shortly after she resigned from the business. Corcoran has been a part of 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. She has been involved in 53 deals since February of 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 investment that will cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He moved between jobs and the next during Corcoran's youth. In times, her family relied upon deliveries of free food from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who was drunk sometimes and was rude to her mother. Corcoran was a struggling pupil throughout her schooling. She later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic primary school within her community and began the high school year at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of courses her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
