Maria Elena Bello, born April 18th, 1967, is an American actress and producer as well as writer. Permanent Midnight (1998), Payback (99), Coyote Ugly 2000, The Cooler 2003, A History of Violence 2005, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor 2008, Grown Ups (2011), Prisoners (2013) and Lights Out (2016) were only some of her movie roles. Bello was a prominent figure in the world of television as Dr. Anna Del Amico in the medical drama ER (1997-1998), along with other starring roles such as Michelle McBride in the first season (2016) of Goliath, and Jacqueline Sloane as a Special Agent on NCIS between 2017 and 2021. Bello was born April 18, 1967 in Norristown, Pennsylvania,[2] to Kathy Bello, a nurse at school and teacher and Joe Bello, a contractor.Her father is Italian American, with roots in Montella, Italy, and her mother is Polish American.She was raised in a poor, Catholic family and graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, Pennsylvania. In the field of political science, Bello majored at Villanova University. Bello continued to train in acting in various New York theater productions after she completed her degree. Bello was married to Dan McDermott and has a son named Jackson. [18] She wrote in November 2013 about her identical-sex relationship with Clare Munn, and how it ended. She published a book entitled Whatever...Love Is love: Questioning the Labels we Give Ourselves (Dey Street Books, April 28 and 29, 2015).
